Chase Recap:

Forecast

The probability of tornadoes seemed low, but there was a chance and it was a Saturday. So I spent my Saturday doing what any normal person would – driving 4 hours away to look at thunderstorms.

I departed Norman and headed north on I-35 towards Wichita. My target area was somewhere near Hutchinson.

Multiple storms had fired, but the best looking one was up by I-70, so I headed up that way. Unfortunately the storms were somewhat high based and seemed to be having trouble containing their cold pools.

I ended up following these storms to Salina before deciding to head home.
